Account Names

For most of your Client Contacts we recommend using a generic word, such as “Database” or “John Smith Database”, as the Account Name. This simplifies the entry process and helps prevent duplicates in the future from imports. All contacts, regardless of Account Name, can be sorted by the Group name.
 
Alternately, for a Business Contacts, you can use a generic name such as "Realtor Database" or "Business Database". This nicely groups your business contacts by their profession or type of contact.

To change the account name for an existing contact:
Note: Do not click on the Account Name of a contact and edit that; it will rename the account instead of changing the contact's Account. Also, updating the account name on an existing contact record will re-trigger existing workflows (e.g. Marketing Campaign).
  1. Click on the name of the contact.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. In the Account Name field, type the name of the account you wish to use.
  4. Click the magnifying glass to search for the Account.
    - If there is a match, select the account you wish to use.
    - If there is no match, click New at the top and Save at the bottom.
  5. Press Save on the contact page.
